What to expect at Mount Takao Autumn Leaves Festival 2024 

Autumn at Mount Takao is the most beautiful time of year to hike the mountain and enjoy the orange hues of the maple leaves.

The Autumn Leaves Festival is held yearly to celebrate all things autumnal.

During the festival there will be performances taking place including dancers and music acts.

A photo contest will take place over the festival on Instagram with the aim of displaying the charms of Mount Takao. 108 of the photo contest participants will be entered into a lottery to win a Mount Takao souvenir.

On 26th October 2024, the head priest of Takao-san Yakuoin Temple will perform a fire ritual and street sermon to pray for the safety of hikers, the elimination of epidemics and the fulfilment of wishes.
