You can now stay in one of 6 Black Butler themed hotel rooms in Tokyo
Sunshine City Prince Hotel in Ikebukuro, Tokyo, will be offering a conceptual room stay plan and menu in collaboration with the TV anime “Black Butler” as the 13th collaboration event for its concept floor, “IKEPRI 25”.
This collaboration follows on the heels of other Tokyo hotels offering anime themed rooms, such as the Code Geass rooms at the Hotel New Otani Tokyo.
With the theme of “A dream experience surrounded by your favorite things”, the concept floor “IKEPRI 25” at Sunshine City Prince Hotel consists of 20 guest rooms and four shared spaces on a single floor.
In addition to providing accommodation, the concept floor also features various community spaces where people can gather and enjoy their shared interests, offering a unique and special stay experience that can only be found at the Sunshine City Prince Hotel.
From November 16th, 2024 to March 16th, 2025, guests can enjoy an extraordinary staycation as if they’ve stepped into the world of the anime, with a “conceptual room stay plan” based on the “Weston College” setting from “Black Butler: Public School Arc”, as well as a “collaboration menu” inspired by the characters of the series.
Designed as an immersive experience, guests are greeted with Black Butler themed elements as soon as they’ve checked in, with the elevators on the concept floor having been adorned with some of the main characters from the Public School Arc.
After leaving the elevator area, guests can enjoy the hallways on the “IKEPRI25” floor, which will also be decorated with scenes from the series.
Guests will be able to choose the specific room they wish to stay in and with 6 different room types, each based on a different character, you’ll need to pick your favorite before booking.
The first, and likely most popular room, is the “Ciel & Sebastian” room, which has a blue theme fitting the Sapphire Owl dormitory that Ciel enters in the Public School Arc.
The second room is based on Edgar Redmond, which has plenty of red decor befitting of the former prefect of the Scarlet Fox House.
The third room features Lawrence Bluewer, former prefect of the Sapphire Owl house and as such it is styled similarly to the “Ciel & Sebastian” room.
The fourth room is filled with green decor to match the Green Lion dormitory of Herman Greenhill.
The penultimate room is themed around the Violet Wolf Dormitory of Gregory Violet, with the dormitory crest featuring heavily in the decor as with all of the other rooms.
The 6th and final room is based on Undertaker, in his appearance as the principal of Weston College.
Plenty of grey/black elements, as well as the college crest, feature heavily to match Undertaker’s personality.
Each room will come with exclusive goods as part of the room price.
An acrylic stand plate, A5 acrylic panel, blanket and a themed key-card that can be kept as a souvenir are all included for guests to take home.
The acrylic stand and key card will differ depending on the specific character(s) the room is based on.
The collaboration will also see four separate lounges created that will be based on scenes from the Public Boarding School arc.
The lounges will allow guests to take photos with their surroundings and one will also have exclusive gashapon machines selling merchandise that will not be available anywhere else.
The first lounge is based on the inter-dorm cricket tournament, with banners of each dormitory hanging in front of a replica cricket pitch.
The second lounge will be themed around the art room where Ciel and Maurice face off.
This lounge will have a photo frame style area for guests to take photos in front of, as well as a separate photo spot specifically designed for guests to take photos with plush toys.
The third lounge is based on the “midnight tea party” held by the headmaster of Weston College. Guests can take photos with the “P4”, with life-size standees being the main feature of the lounge.
The fourth and final lounge is based on the cricket tournament ending party, with a photo spot featuring the Black Butler logo.
The fourth lounge will also have gashapon machines selling merch exclusive to the collaboration.
A set of mini acrylic stands, acrylic keyholders and badges have been produced, each featuring artwork created specially for the collaboration.
A special collaboration menu will also be available at three of the hotel’s restaurants.
A “Black Butler Afternoon Tea” can be booked online by any guest staying in the hotel, regardless of whether they have booked a collaboration room or not.
Priced at 6,800 yen ($45.40 USD/£34.79 GBP), the afternoon tea set is intended for two people sharing and comes with coffee and hot or iced tea included in the price.
Each of the three restaurants will also be serving a Black Butler themed dish, with “Ciel’s Seafood Risotto”, “Sebastian’s Garlic Fried Rice” and “Undertaker’s Meat Soba” set to be on offer.
Each food order will come with an exclusive A4 clear file, selected at random from 8 types.
Collaboration drinks can also be ordered, such as “Ciel’s Green Apple Drink” or “Sebastian’s Lemon Drink” amongst others based on the “P4” and Undertaker.
Each drink order will come with one of 14 different exclusive stickers, chosen at random.
Bookings for rooms at the Sunshine City Prince Hotel’s “IKEPRI25” Black Butler collaboration start at 12:00 JST on Friday the 1st of November via the official website.
The rooms are priced at between 21,000 yen ($140.22 USD/£107.44 GBP) and 28,000 yen ($186.95 USD/£143.25 GBP) per night and includes the original goods and original key card that can be taken home, as well as lounge access and 1 collaboration drink.
Demand is set to be high, especially for the “Ciel & Sebastian” room, so we’d recommend booking as soon as reservations open to secure your stay.
